Left Uppercut Defense

  1. Step forward with your right foot to a sei ping ma position and do a right fist poon kiu, or coiling block to redirect the attacker’s uppercut punch.   Pull your left fist behind you.  
  2. Turn to a ding ji ma.  Left fan jong, or uppercut punch to the jaw.  Pull the right fist behind.
  3. Turn to a sei ping ma position. Left nop sau, or hooking hand intercepts a possible right punch to the head. Right sow jang, or roundhouse elbow to the temple.
  4. Turn to a ding ji ma position. Right nop sau, or hooking hand intercepts any possible left punch. Left sow jang, or roundhouse elbow to the bridge of the nose or the temple. 
  5. If the attacker is still not stopped, hook your left hand behind the attacker’s neck. Hook your right hand over the attacker’s left arm. Now, pull the attacker into a left roundhouse knee to the solar plexus. 
  6. Step backward with the left foot to a right knee down lok quei ma.  Right bau jang, or downward elbow to the back of the head. Slap the right forearm with the left palm.
  7. Step to 3:00 with your right foot to a left sei ping ma with guards up.
